Frosted times

Let me take you back to the end of October last year,

To a cold day of frosted eyelashes on leaves.

It was a stunning bright day

Perfect for a drive out to the horse ranch

Sporting its old Grand Central clock on the side of the barn.

Grand central

The brilliance of the sun

Turned the wires into art

And behind the frosted thistles

I discovered a secret world of rainbow bubbles.

On the way home, I stopped to admire

The endurance of this ancient rune stone

(And to wonder if the Simpsons was based on the pattern on the stone…

Look at those eyes!)

  2. Hi Fiona, Love that first shot. Frost can make for some great photos, can’t it???? AND–that blue sky is gorgeous. We haven’t had much of anything but rain here for quite awhile… BUT–this morning, it is much colder here (low 30’s) –and very foggy… Fog makes for good pictures also.

    Have a great day.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  3. Beautiful images! The bokeh is lovely on the 4th shot. And I love the shot of the barn and clock. A great series, Lady Fi! Have a happy week ahead.

  4. especially the first photograph is lovely! I also love to photograph frosted nature, too bad there is not much winter over here. But today we had some snow, which makes me happy as a child! 🙂

  5. Yes, Bart was definitely visiting! The frost brought out the best in the landscape – as did your camera and compositions. (I love the clock, especially on that old barn.)

  6. Such a lovely series of images – with the unexpected Simpsons jolt at the end!
It all brought a smile to «Louis’» face!
