Swan lake

Sometimes the silence and the grey

Descend so softly

That you can almost hear the peace of the cloudy reflections.

Later on, the moody skies

Turn purple

And the old jetty seems to stretch out

Towards the swans

Dancing on the edge of infinity.

  1. Wow, I came across your website completely by accident, but I’m so happy I did! How wonderful photos and funny posts you’ve got! I’m Swedish but have moved to Cornwall (my boyfriend’s from Nottingham but moved to Newquay at 15) and lived here for a couple of years. We’ve been talking about moving to Sweden to start a family there, but we’re not sure. I just don’t know how my boyfriend will adapt in a country with a language he doesn’t speak a word of. With jobs and friends and such. How long did it take you to settle in and get used to Sweden and Swedish people? Do you find it hard to make friends in Sweden being British? Also, did you find the Swedish language difficult to learn?
And just out of curiosity, where in Sweden do you live? Looks like the Northern part, and good lord how beautiful it is!
Lots and lots of questions, hope you’ll have time to answer a few of them 🙂

  3. As always, your photography is amazing and inspiring. Love the peaceful colors you are able to capture. The shot of the pier draws your eye out, over the expanse. Brilliant.

  4. Hi Fiona. Have just spent a most enjoyable time catching up on your fabulous images. You really are surrounded by beauty in your part of the world. If you don’t mind can I ask what make of camera you use? Things get so hectic don’t they, its Late Friday evening here in Perth, a quiet night for a change and so nice to catch up. Hope you have a super weekend.

  5. I am rarely at a loss for words, but there are no words that can adequately express how exceptionally beautiful these photos are. Your pictures and your words are such poetry, and the post conveys such an exquisite sense of peace.

I just love that bench sitting on its own little “island” and want to be there with a good book and a camera as great as yours! 🙂 (If I had a camera like yours, the book would have to be about how to use it! LOL)

  6. I have heard so many good thing about the Canon 500D it’s almost tempting, but I have a perfectly good Pentax and Lumix so couldn’t really justify it…but maybe……!!
