Golden motes of light

Sometimes

When the light is just right

And the shadows weave a tapestry with the sun —

If you take the time to look closely and marvel

Even the humblest sight – like a cloud of midges –

Can become a magnificent and beautiful cloud of gold dust

Reminding us that we all have hidden depths and beauty within.

A cloud of midges glowing in the sunset

  1. Your words are so poetic, I was moved deeply by your insight towards nature, even tiny things like golden dusts. You are looking at nature not only with your eyes but also with your heart. Thank you, you made my day. Ladyfi, have a great day.

  2. What a beautiful, peaceful scene. And the midges do look like a “sprinkling of gold dust” coming down. Lovely post, as always. Have a nice weekend. Mickie 🙂

  3. Those midges must have found their way over here ….. we were plagued with them last night while Murray was trying to ride!

    Lovely photos!

  4. I’m going to have to take a second look at the swarm of bugs flying around in my back yard now, Fi. They just seemed like something in my face. You have such a good eye for finding beauty everywhere.

  5. Hi there – if your midges are like the ones in the UK I have to say you are welcome to them! Having said that, they do make a very good picture!

  6. Thank you for this post! Looking for joy and beauty in small things — that’s why we have fun on roadtrips — even the endless miles (as some describe them) between here and there bring things we enjoy, I wish I could describe this as beautifully as you do.

I am catching up tonight; it isn’t always easy to get a good connection while we’re on the road. I loved the Viking tour above; wonderful field trip. You know it’s a great one when the kids don’t want to go home!
