Deep purple

There might not have been any smoke on the water —

We had to make do with snow and ice and lively dog.

But there was certainly some fire in the sky

In lovely shades of purple and rose.

I spied a plane flying off into the delights of a vibrant silken cloud

Made up of pink and purple and magic.

The hooded clouds, like friars,
Tell their beads in drops of rain.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

  3. Fantastic colours – and what a lot of snow you still have. We’ve had westerly gales the last couple of days which have blown all of the ice out to sea, so it’s clear water for the first time since November.

oh, yes….we can hear the noise of waterfall. I used a lens canon with extender…it was 600mm. But the noise of Waterfall is gorgeous but who is fearful to be close with.

  6. If it weren’t for the snow, the skies could come out of the Caribbean! It surprises me how far behind you are in spring. Northern Germany doesn’t look so far away on the map from you, but your photos say differently.

  8. Beautiful sky!!!! The colors are magnificent. I love the shot of the plane–makes one realize just how “small” we really are when the sky is the backdrop. Lovely work–have a wonderful weekend. Mickie 🙂

  9. Stunning – it looks as though it could have been taken where I live – the countryside is very similar and we too have jets flying overhead.
