Even a fresh snowfall couldn’t dim the joy of this time of year: the spring equinox.

A time when the light starts coming back, ice and snow recede eventually

And long evenings unfurl perfumed with flowers and warmth.

As one hemisphere gets shorter days and the other longer ones,

This Yin and Yang dance reminds me that we all share this world

And that we are all dependent on each other for balance and harmony.

I will love the light for it shows me the way.  Yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.

  1. Thanks for coming by my blog. What absolutely wonderful photos you have on your posts–lovely. I very much like the quote on the most recent one. Hope you will come by my blog again–I know I will yours. Mickie 🙂

  2. Loved this post.;)
The images are stunning, but the sentiments truly resonated with me strongly today.
What an inspirational post in words and images, that quote is supreb.

  3. Love the images and the mixture of blue and gold. I’m going to have to borrow that quote – I need reminding of the need for balance way too often!

  4. Heading into the tail end of March and we just got another four inches of snow. That’s just under 90 inches for the season.

    Insert heavy sigh here.

Spring is just around the corner. It really is.

  5. Pearl…we’ve got you beat…we’re over the 500 inches this season mark…with 24-35 inches since last night…if the snow keeps up over the weekend, we’re well on our way to the snowiest winter in 40 years!!!

  6. OH, these shots took my breath away…THEY are filled with beauty, balance and harmony! And the quote, spoke to me! Thank you!!
Always so much to admire when I visit you!

  7. I remember the noise the dry winter reeds used to make on a nature reserve I worked on a very long time ago.

These pictures brought all those times back.

  8. Fiona, lately every time I see your new blog posts, the images that you have taken are causing my heart to skip a beat.

That my dear bloggy friend is one of the highest compliments I can pay you.

    Stunning, simply stunning.

  9. I am speechless.

I came here to say thanks for visiting my blog (and I shall never forget your comment about the free Brazilian wax!) but I have just spent…what?…half and hour or more mesmerized by your photos and thoughts. Every time I thought I’d found the most gorgeous photo, you surprised me and surpassed it with another…and another.

I adore your nature pics and the horse with wild hair, and I laughed out loud when you nearly fried yourself on your neighbor’s fence. (Sorry.) But I think most of all, I love your perspective on Frodo. I’m still weeping over that short story.
