Autumn treasures

Late summer merges into the mellow beauty of early autumn.

A single leaf flutters to the ground. Its clarity is a marvel. (Click each photo to enlarge.)

The dog meditates on the essence of leaves and all their passionate colours.

Autumn beauty is luminous…

Its fire and light brighten my world, while also bestowing on me a sense of serenity.

These are my autumn treasures. What are yours?

  1. Meditating, sleeping, dreaming the time away… all the same. We don’t have any of those colours yet. Winter closes in more quickly in your neighbourhood.

  2. Are all these photos taken by you? They’re brilliant – and I mean that in two ways. The clarity is awesome. I love my camera and taking pix but I have no talent for it. The only talent I have is knowing how to chuck out dross (i.e. 98% of the pix I take!) So I don’t go for artistic; I go for recording moments and family life and parties etc.

  3. Your photos are stunning. The last one shows the essence of serenity. Our autumn colours are still developing. I think my autumn treasures are morning mists, the smell of rich damp earth and of course, the changing, brilliant colours.

  4. Incredible captures as always! Love the rich color of the leaves! We are beginning to see a few of the lovely colored leaves here, too. Love the meditating Oscar! You are getting better and better and I look forward to your photos each week! Enjoy the beauty and have a great week!

  5. Fabulous autumn photos …

Has encouraged me to get out there and enjoy some of the autumn colour around us as well.

Collecting conkers is absolutely Murray’s favourite autumn activity – his excitment every day at the moment when he finds some is huge!

  6. Your autumn colors and photos are beautiful. It should be autumn here, but it was near 90 F today. I’m looking forward to the Aspens turning gold.
Oscar has his own beautiful autumn color.

  7. Don’t you just love the autumn colors? These photo’s of yours are beautiful. Once again your dog reminds me so much of mine. It causes me to remember jumping into the piles of leaves with my dog and my now grown children, when they were growing up.

My Autumn treasures are the beautiful changes in everything…the cooler weather, the smell of campfires, the looks of the fields as the farmers work at harvesting, the fresh smells and the beautiful colors that are just amazing and breath taking.

Thanks for sharing your Autumn treasures! 🙂 XX

I do think falling leaves are the most beautiful things ever- we don’t have them in India, unfortunately.

    1. Oh, so sorry to hear that you don’t enjoy autumn. For me, it’s like spring – but with leaves!

And I like winter too – nature winds down and takes a much needed rest…

  14. Wow, these really are treasures. Better, to me, than diamonds and gold. I love the fall colours, they are as inspiring to me as seeing the first green in the spring.
