Treasure on the wind

“I would like to believe when I die that I have given myself away like a tree that sows seeds every spring and never counts the loss, because it is not loss. It is adding to future life. It’s the tree’s way of being. Strongly rooted perhaps, but spilling out its treasure on the wind.”

— May Sarton

Don’t you just love those glorious late summer skies? What treasures are you grateful for?

  1. oh my! that golden sunshine and a child at play!

    little treasures:
    watching a hummingbird feed
waking up to a misty morning
    experiencing a beautiful sunset
warming myself up with a cup of hot cocoa
seeing a blue heron skim along the water in flight

    just to name a few!

  2. Fine night for play. Yes, the sun gets lower and lower now. Fine and evocative image. yes, how I did my picture. During long exposures, you can get track of the stars due to Earth’s rotation.
Unfortunately, the leaked light lens during exposure, and I got the purple color in the upper left corner. I may use black duct tape at the next attempt.

  3. so beautiful.

    off hand i’m grateful for:
    – the feel of soft grass on bare feet
    – the smell of the world after the rain
    – explosion of autumn colors
    – smell of home baking

    and a whole lot more.

  7. Just beautiful– what joy! Those late summer skies are my absolute favorite, but alas, we are missing them completely this year. We’re shrouded in grey, grey, grey instead. So glad I can enjoy beautiful pictures like yours!

  8. Your picture is just amazingly beautiful. I just adore arising before sunrise and watchin’ the birds flutter around, the humming birds feedin’ in my gardens. Listening to Rocky ( a squirrel who has lived in one of my trees for years) chatter from the treetops. The bunnies play outside the thickets early and it’s just great to be alive! :o)

God bless ya’ll and have a terrific weekend!!!

  9. Wonderful photo – autumn has always been our favourite time of year and the treasure we find and Murray adores is very simple – chestnuts – its the highlight of his day at the moment – a walk after school every day and a handful of chestnuts to bring home!
