I am dog: hear me roar!

After a lot of hesitation, I’ve decided to take the plunge and support a new venture called Communal Global, by entering a photographic competition they are holding. The theme is: TODAY.

How to choose just one photo that sums up an ordinary day, that shows the small miracles hidden in our everyday lives?

“My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.” – Unknown author

(You can click the photo to see a larger version. Oh – and this is my dog, Oscar.)

Dog – a miracle of licks and kindness and snowflakes,

Each golden wisp of hair crackling with energy.

Graceful, proud, majestic.

Serene in a repose that speaks of action.

Self-confident and loved.

Dog that greets each day with licks and joy and leaps,

That lives in each moment, enjoying them as they come.

Gentle, wise and mischievous.

Dog, and children, grabbing each golden second

And making life sing. Today. Every day.

Dog. Children. Unconditional love personified.

You can see more magnificent pets over at Camera Critters and Pet Pride.

And remember to check out the fantastic photos entered in the Communal Global competition!

  1. Why is it that dogs always look so regal? This is a wonderful picture! I’m so glad you decided to enter the contest at Communal Global–thanks!

  2. Oscar is a gorgeous dog and so sweet looking. I love the poem, too, and it’s very true that children and dogs offer unconditional love. We grownups should take a lesson from that. I hope you win the contest. I’m going to go check out the Communal Global website.

  3. Wonderful!! I love your dog 😀 (you’ve gotta check out Lola’s blog…she does the most awesome dogisms of the day) Thanks for playing along at CG …heja Sverige! ;D

  4. Oscar is such a handsome dog and knows it but is gracious enough to pose for the lesser beings in his universe 😉
I liked your sister’s footprints in the snow – what a hardy soul!

  5. That kind of dog was once my dream…but now we have a cat who can’t stand any other fourlegged in house. Even such kind of statues she’s pushing down from shelves…

    Nice, crispy pic! Good luck!

PS. vi bor i Åkersberga och vi har sommarstuga i Norrtälje kommun, Baltora.

  6. What a wonderful picture. Oscar looks much like Tiger the Wonder Dog although I’m sure Oscar is much smarter. Tiger isn’t the brightest crayon in the box. Sorry Tiger! Heehehe!

God bless and have a beautiful day sweetie!!!
