Sailing the skies

Spring equinox skies,

Day and night in perfect balance,

A brief whisper of warmth, then of cold –

Like a lover’s caress.

Come unfold your sails, cast them to the skies

And float among the clouds

On this day that contains a song

Of the velvet in the fist of iron.

  1. Lovely prose and color contrast against the winter white. But I would go CRAZY with spring so late!!! I don’t think this California girl could move to such northern latitudes. I’m too much of a wimp! 🙂

the first one has a nice contrast between the scene and the sails..great

  3. I love your verses, Fi but I think I’ve seen enough snow to last me for the next few years. I mean over here – not your lovely photos. We had it on and off for about six weeks – that was more than enough for me.

  7. Oh still a lot of wintery scenes! It’s nice to see that people are getting out and trying to enjoy the sunshine. Nice shots! Hope spring arrives soon for you. Thanks for visiting mine.

  8. Those are really beautiful photos and even though I’m eager for spring there is something to be said for the crisp, cold winter scenes that you capture so perfectly.
