In the land of snow and mountains

I’m off to Norway again for a film shoot. (Lucky me, I do have a fun job!)

If you remember, I was in Roros – up in the mountains in northern Norway – in April as well.

It snowed a lot.

And the icicles were like perfect crystals against old wood.

We will be staying in the same hotel as last time – a fabulous renovated old wool factory.

It doesn’t look much on the outside, but the rooms are wonderful.

(So is the food.)

The picturesque streets are dotted with deliciously bright buildings – most are about 300 years old –

And antique stores.

You can just about see my reflection in the corner of this shot.

It will probably be snowing again this week.

But don’t worry about me – I’ll be in heaven!

As I’ll be away for most of the week, I won’t be able to get around to all of your blogs. But thank you so much for your visit!

  4. Beautiful photos, that looks like a great place to go. But even at our house more than 2km above sea level, this is late for snow!

enjoy your time in heavenly Røros! 🙂

  7. Oh Røros is a place where I could live . During the few days I stayed there, I took many photos and like you, I was absolutely overwhelmed by the wonderful wooden houses with roofs consisting of seven layers of turf. You probably saw the miners’museum. I was fascinated by the way these people worked. Have a great time!

  8. These are beautiful photos, Fiona. The first two look like I can touch them and feel the grain of the wood. They move me physically, and for me that is the sign of an excellent photo. 😀 Enjoy your trip!

  11. Love that last shot…not exactly sure what I’m looking at. You seem to be in there and then there’s a bird cage that appears to be suspended in air…very cool! It must be a reflection.

  12. oh, everything there looks cold, cold. but you picture the scenes lovely, as always… i hope they have plenty of hot chocolate and coffee and muffins and soups, haha, so you won’t shiver too much… btw, is the climate (and temperature) in Norway more or less the same as Sweden’s? both Sweden and Norway a lot colder than your London, Ms. Lady Fi? bother to answer my senseless prattles when you’re less busy. 🙂

kick ass in your project and enjoy your stay. warm regards. 😉
