Dancing with eyes wide shut
When no one is looking, Oscar dances delicately on the ice…
With eyes shut.
And just for the sheer pleasure of it, he runs with his eyes shut.
Because he can.
But when he wants to look his best
Out there on the iced over lake
He opens his eyes wide
And dances on diamonds.

Goldens have always been my favorites. They are such wonderful dogs, great with children, too. I never had one – for the last 33 years, I’ve been a renter and pets have not been permitted. At least, I have granddogs!
My peguin – and the turtle and fish – on my Camera Critters today – are all from a Hawaii trip.

To be free like Oscar and dance on the ice my eyes totally shut

Oscar you are beautiful dancing on the diamonds..:)
January 29, 2011 at 21:33
Such poetry. Love the idea. There have been times in my life when I also closed me eyes and danced in the arms of someone who moved like silk and who could be trusted. I don’t know what goes on in the mind of a dog to allow him to do it on his own.

He is gorgeous and the scenery lovely.
