Autumn treasures

Late summer merges into the mellow beauty of early autumn.

A single leaf flutters to the ground. Its clarity is a marvel. (Click each photo to enlarge.)

The dog meditates on the essence of leaves and all their passionate colours.

Autumn beauty is luminous…

Its fire and light brighten my world, while also bestowing on me a sense of serenity.

These are my autumn treasures. What are yours?

Meditating, sleeping, dreaming the time away… all the same. We don’t have any of those colours yet. Winter closes in more quickly in your neighbourhood.

  5. I have not made my post yet, but yours are beautiful.

  6. Seeing the changing colours of the leaves and stepping on the dry, dead leaves and listening to them crackle.

  8. I love the colors of autumn. We don’t really get to experience the change of colors here as much as in other places.

    I linked to you today.

  9. Are all these photos taken by you? They’re brilliant – and I mean that in two ways. The clarity is awesome. I love my camera and taking pix but I have no talent for it. The only talent I have is knowing how to chuck out dross (i.e. 98% of the pix I take!) So I don’t go for artistic; I go for recording moments and family life and parties etc.

    September 27, 2010 at 20:17

    • Oh, thank you for your kind words. I did take all of these photos – (nearly all of the photos on my blog are mine too).

  14. Your photos are stunning. The last one shows the essence of serenity. Our autumn colours are still developing. I think my autumn treasures are morning mists, the smell of rich damp earth and of course, the changing, brilliant colours.

  37. Don’t you just love the autumn colors? These photo’s of yours are beautiful. Once again your dog reminds me so much of mine. It causes me to remember jumping into the piles of leaves with my dog and my now grown children, when they were growing up.

My Autumn treasures are the beautiful changes in everything…the cooler weather, the smell of campfires, the looks of the fields as the farmers work at harvesting, the fresh smells and the beautiful colors that are just amazing and breath taking.

Thanks for sharing your Autumn treasures! :) XX
