Wish you were here…
We’re having lovely crispy nostril-hair-freezing-and-cracking kind of weather.

But look at that glorious morning sun!

Beautiful photo! I just came in from shoveling our front walk – we finally had a good amount of snow dumped on us. It is a good thing we don’t have anywhere we need to be for a few days!

Absolutely beautiful… I can feel my nostril hairs freezing up just thinking of the cold in that photo! I love the crispy quiet of winter mornings.

This is the lake, right? Looks very beautiful. Can you walk on it?
December 19, 2009 at 16:23
Yes – that is snow and ice on the lake. The ice is still quite thin so we can’t walk on it yet.
But soon…

I can’t say that we have ever, ever, ever, even with minus 17 weather had nostril hair freezing weather.
Been through that once in Alberta, and it was a experience that I would rather not repeat.
But that all said, what a gorgeous photo. So the loss of hairs was worth it.

We are having that kind of weather, too – you describe it so well. Unfortunately, I stay under the cozy covers, so I don’t get that kind of lovely sunrise photo!

Gorgeous. I love this time of year, partly because the sunrise and leaving the house coincide. Ergo lots of lovely sunrise photos!

Aw i am jealous, it is snowing everywhere in the UK except where I am!

Cold and snow make for the best pictures except I never want to go outside! Beautiful!

Those ultra cold days sure does make those sunrises and sets extra beautiful somehow. Clearly this was no exception.

Beautiful frosty sunrise. Love the wintry photo below also.

It´s not the nostril hair that I keep thinking about at these temps but now I have to!:-)

I feel like I am there … we finally got some real snow!! I love the term “nostril freezing.”

I hate it when my nose hairs freeze..then they thaw out and drip! Your photograph is stunning! I can almost feel the chill in the air..that is a sign of really good photography! The lakes here are frozen enough now that most areas are safe:)
