Runes with a view
Slabs of granite
Marking might and the passage of time
Centuries old, gazing blindly over the lake.

1,000-year-old rune stones
Weather-beaten, enduring.
Will you still be standing in another thousand years?
The guardians of time.

Stunning lake view!!!!!

The stones remind me of a fallen down Stonehenge. Was it some kind of structure a 1000 years ago?
The lake photo is gorgeous.

Lovely!! I wonder what the Vikings were building. Sweden is full of interesting places!
July 28, 2009 at 11:24
Do you have that lake view? How fabulous if you do and what a good walk it must make if you don’t.
July 28, 2009 at 11:55
Yes – we have a similar view if we walk about a minute from the front door.
Lucky us!
The walk to the rune stones takes about 10 minutes.

I love when you post about the runes. They’re so mystical and magical.
And off topic, I tried to get on here no less than three times yesterday with no luck. Your page wouldn’t load. It wouldn’t be inconceivable that the problem would be on my end, but I thought I’d make you aware just in case others might be having problems as well…

Beautiful post. Thank you.

Love the runes….kids love the runes…..so foreign to our American soil! But we have the Giant Sequoias 1 hour from our house. They have been around about 3,000 years. Always awesome. Who could EVER tire of them? Can’t believe ANYONE ever let even one of them be cut down. It makes me ill.
