Of UFOs and dinner plates
Last weekend, a UFO appeared. And I’m not talking about the dandelions in the garden either. But now you mention them, they are as large as dinner plates. (I tell you: either the dandelions are getting larger every year or dinner plates are getting smaller…)
The UFO I’m talking about shimmered in the air, its blue and black body casting huge shadows across the miniature lawn; its blue and green legs as spindly and those of a spider. Slowly. Painfully. It took shape while excited children looked on and tried to help it become steady on its legs.
When it was ready, it spun a fantastic web of strong, black thread around itself. There it was: firm, full of confidence, ready for anything.

Bring it on!

How fun! I loved our trampoline.

I want to come and play! We were never allowed to play on tramps when i was a kid and i’ve always wanted to.
You guys are going to have so much fun!!!!!

Yay! It was fun putting it together, rather like a giant Meccano set – with springs! Yes, putting those 72 springs into place was quite a stretch, I can tell you! (oops, not allowed to do those kinds of jokes here, sorry boss
)

Ha ha ha! Very good joke, Sir Pe!

No matter how old I get, I will never stop loving trampolines.

I know this is going to cause people to throw things at me, but here goes….
I never understood trampolines. I just don’t get it.

We love trampolines! Stuck ours into the ground though and planted lots of lavender around it so I don’t notice it!! Had kids, dog and the main man on it tonight – while he was trying to water the garden (don’t ask!!) – have great photos if I ever get around to sticking them on the blog!
Enjoy trampoling!!

Ooo, very safety conscious!
Speaking of dahlias – do you actually dig yours up each winter and store them until Spring?

Cool!

I love those!

Oh boy, you are going to be soooo popular with your neighbours!!! haha.

Queues of kids every day, waiting to bounce. Am thinking about charging an entry fee!
June 1, 2009 at 12:51
Well it will surely cause some anklebiters to get rid of some excess energy! My grandson recently broke his elbow on one of these..he just landed wrong. All the kids in the neighborhood show up to play, but since this incident..I heard a rumor that it is being sold. Are you going to fly in the air with the children? My Grandsons always invite me, I always decline:)

I have been on the trampoline now and then!

Ohh….Emma would just pee her pants with excitement if we got her one of these. Our neighbors have one for their children, and she bounces on it every day. We are considering getting her one for her birthday.

I did a post about trampolining once, it was entitled Jelly Legs and Damp Pants – know what I mean?! x
June 1, 2009 at 14:58
I wouldn’t mind having a go on the trampoline although I’m no “spring” chicken!
June 1, 2009 at 18:21
You’re very brave! My husband forbids trampolines for our kiddos. He has too many ER doctor friends. We have two pogo sticks though!

This is the MOST poetic writing I have ever seen written for a trampoline. FABULOUS!
June 1, 2009 at 21:05
Fun stuff! (when I first wrote that, it came out as, “fUN TUFF!”…I should have left it, that’d be quite the puzzle!)

The best trampoline I’ve ever seen is one over the water in the Caribbean. My kids loved it, and I felt safe that they wouldn’t get hurt. Yours is large too. Must take a while to set up.

I bet you now have the coolest yard on the block! This looks like countless hours of F U N ! ! ! Enjoy

How fun! Our neighbors recently got one so my kids are happy.

Wonderful description!
And how much fun! I’m sure you’ll have kids who will sleep well now! Trampolines are fun and tiring!

Summertime is truly here. I found that out today. Now I just need a Slip ‘N Slide to match my motherly slippage.
