Did you just hear a loud explosion? The sound of a thousand clog dancers tap dancing on a railway line? Or perhaps something that sounded like an earthquake – only squeakier?

It’s only me… do not be alarmed. Although I might warn you that a face mask or an umbrella might come in handy right now. Because no matter how I try, I can’t hold back my sneezes.
It’s the explosion of birch pollen and flowers that does it. And the sound of me sneezing is just the sound of spring gone mad.
A bit like me. As it’s World Laughter Day on May 3rd, Sir Pe suggests that I try to laugh and turn the allergy misery into fun.

I think having one of these nifty little toilet hats would help: I could blow my nose while people had a good laugh. Twice the fun and twice the value!
And if that doesn’t help, I could always turn to some good, clean, light-hearted fun.

Because, the more you laugh, the better you feel.
And the better you feel, the more you want to laugh.
That should scare my birch allergy away, don’t you think?
At least until next year.

I’m so sorry about your allergies! You know what? Definitely go for the toilet paper hat-it makes sense

Our allergies are bothering us here in Utah too. Middle Boy and I spent most of the day sneezing while running errands.
Laughing is wonderful!

EVERYONE has allergies in the spring…I want them too…in fact I think I have them…my nose is stuffy….does that count as allergies?? I don’t like to go to the doctor so I’m just guessing…but maybe??? I want a toliet paper hat…can you get those in Sweden???;-))

The toilet paper hat is completely, utterly wicked. Do you have one of those nose rinsers? My husband says they really work.

Now that we have moved to a neighborhood with very few maple trees, I am doing so much better! But I would pay for an automatic tissue dispenser to put on my head during hay fever season.

Funny and sad at the same time that everyone who survives a cold winter climate, can’t wait for spring to come and then they have to suffer from pollen. Is nature trying to make us laugh? I can just imagine the looks you’d get with the toilet paper hat. Great idea though.

I didn’t know it was World Laughter Day! And yes, the woman with the toilet paper is brilliant
Greetings to you from Brighton and Hove.

That toilet paper hat *is* very funny! I’d suggest you try the Claritin approach, though. You might have better success!!
Happy Spring

I do love me some humor! But these allergies and late spring illnesses are about to take the funny right out of life:)

Oh boy, I love that loo hat. I have to have one! That is the funniest picture in a long time!

Is that young lady trying to call for help perhaps? That would make it a roll call!

He he, that toilet roll hat is priceless. Its Autumn here but I always get allergies and hay fever in spring…its worth it though becasue it is without doubt my most favourite time of year.

Have you tried anti-histamines and nasal spray? or is that too obvious?!!
May 5, 2009 at 5:25 am
That hat is too funny..if you can’t find one just have the anklebiters wrap your entire head in toilet paper..then you can use as needed ! I hate the pollen too, it stuffs me up..I use some kind of allergy tablet..Zyrtec or some such thing..have you been counting your sneezes..I did about ten the other day in a row..did you know that your heart stops beating when you sneeze? Or is that just an old wives tale?

Very wise indeed! It’s worst down here right at the onset of Spring and we call it “Spring Fever”.
We are in the city of New South Wales. Thanks for visiting my blog. Much appreciated.

I feel for you. Last month I had a wretched allergy attack. Never did try the Neti, though.
